Professional staffing providers prepare for SHRM 2011
Next week, my fellow Seamless Workforce contributors Matt Rivera, Doug Lubin, and I will once again be heading to Las Vegas. This time, it will be to cover the 2011 Society Of Human Resource Management’s marquee event, their annual conference and exhibition, or as it’s better known: SHRM. The event is huge and will occupy nearly every available square foot of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
For those of you who have been before, you know what an incredible event it is, and how valuable it can be from an educational perspective. For those who have not had the opportunity to attend, here is a sample of some of the standard conference tracks to provide an example of the wide variety of subjects covered.
- Business competencies
- Certification preparation
- Executive education
- Recruiting and new media
- Personal and leadership development
We will be covering the event, and highlighting the ongoing maturation and evolution of not only the strategic planning and management of the workforce, but how today’s leading firms are incentivizing collaboration between the three key players to build successful workforce strategies. In other words, what new, innovative, and groundbreaking efforts are being made to allow human resource professionals to become better business leaders and effectively accomplish business objectives?
Along the way, we will do our best to interview attendees, presenters, and other members of the HR ecosystem to bring you their insight into the biggest issues discussed. If there is anything in particular you’d like information on, drop a suggestion in the comments, and be on the lookout for SHRM coverage next week.
