Movieclips Monday: How winning is done in the business of recruitment process outsourcing

I have always been a “Rocky” fan, somewhat by default, having a dad and brother that enjoyed the movies during the years I was growing up. When I started working for Yoh about three years ago, there were even some “Rocky” references made within my family and friends, knowing that Yoh is headquartered in Philly. That led into some “Yo, Adrian!” comments, too.

I even had a celebrity sighting of Sylvester Stallone in Italy, as he was touring the Vatican at the same time as my family a few years ago.

Although I think that the earlier “Rocky” movies were better than those toward the end, there is a scene in ”Rocky Balboa“ in which Rocky is talking to his son about life lessons. I think this message can be applied to anyone.

The part that resonates with me the most is when Sylvester Stallone says, “Nothing is going to hit as hard as life.” And that it isn’t about “how hard you are hit. It is about how you can get hit and keep moving forward.”

That’s true in life and business, especially a business as competitive as recruitment process outsourcing. There will be challenges, including some really tough ones.

People are going to disappoint you, whether it be in your personal or professional life. What matters at the end of the day is how you react to those hits, how you get yourself back in the game of life, and how you just keep moving forward.

I challenge my team to give their very best effort every day in our partnerships. When challenges occur or mistakes happen, get right back in the fight and keep moving forward. As stated in the clip, “That’s how winning is done.”
